| 1973: | Founded as the umbrella organization of the European protected areas in Basel. Based in Grafenau until 2010. Since 2010 based in Regensburg. |
| 2002: | Start of the Junior Ranger program. Since then the Junior Ranger network has been growing to about 50 partners in 15 European countries. One of the major tasks is the coordination and organization of the international Junior Ranger Camp, which is carried out annually in another country in collaboration with the network members. |
| 2013: | First “Youth Conference” at the Europarc Federation Conference with older Junior Rangers as participants from 11 nations with the aim to give young people from the individual protected areas a voice. |
